This privacy policy applies to SignType, an app for designers to review typography for signage, wayfinding, and accessibility. SignType is published by Future Architecture (futurearchitecture.ca).
The short version
SignType does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app does happens on your device.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect personal information, contact details, location data, device identifiers, usage analytics, or crash reports.
Your content stays on your device
Any projects, type specimens, images, or files you create or open in SignType are processed entirely on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, because we do not operate servers that receive your content. We have no ability to see, access, or recover anything you make in the app.
If you choose to export or share something from SignType — for example by saving a file, sending it in a message, or copying it to another app — that content leaves SignType and is then handled by whatever app or service you sent it to, under that provider’s own privacy policy.
Device permissions
SignType may ask your permission to access features such as your camera, photo library, or files, so that you can bring signage and typography into the app to review. These permissions are used only to carry out the action you requested, and only while you are using the app. Nothing accessed through these permissions is sent anywhere. You can grant or revoke any permission at any time in your device settings, and the app will continue to work with the remaining features.
Third parties
SignType contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits.
If you obtained SignType from the App Store, Apple handles the download and any purchase as part of its own relationship with you. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated sales and download figures that cannot identify individual users. Apple’s handling of your information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you contact us
If you email us for support, we will have whatever you put in that email — typically your email address and your description of the problem. We use it only to answer you, we do not add you to any mailing list without your asking, and we do not share it with anyone. You can ask us to delete the correspondence at any time.
Children
SignType is a professional design tool and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR, PIPEDA, and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or erase. We have never sold personal information and never will. If you would like written confirmation of this, email us and we will provide it.
Changes to this policy
If SignType ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above before that change ships. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
